SMR-101™ Solar Mesh Repeater
Extend Your Mesh. No Grid Power Required.
The TCS SMR-101™ Solar Mesh Repeater is a professionally engineered, self-contained LoRa infrastructure node designed for reliable, long-term, unattended outdoor deployment across demanding climates.
Rather than requiring customers to choose between standard, hot-weather, or cold-weather versions, the SMR-101 is designed around a single principle: communications infrastructure should be ready for the environment in which it is installed.
From intense summer heat to prolonged winter cold, the SMR-101 integrates its radio, battery, solar charging, environmental protection, and mounting systems into one rugged platform engineered for year-round operation.
Whether you're building a MeshCore repeater network, a Meshtastic relay, or extending coverage across a private LoRa network, the SMR-101 provides always-on infrastructure without requiring commercial power or constant maintenance.
Simply mount it where coverage is needed, connect your antenna, and let the sun do the rest.
Built for Real-World Deployment
Unlike DIY solar nodes assembled from separate batteries, charge controllers, radios, weatherproof boxes, and mounting hardware, the SMR-101 is designed as a complete outdoor communications system.
The radio platform, power system, solar charging, enclosure, RF connections, and structural mounting hardware are engineered to work together as permanent communications infrastructure.
The result is a cleaner installation, greater reliability, and dramatically less time spent building and maintaining remote sites.
One Repeater. Every Season.
Remote infrastructure doesn't get to choose the weather.
A repeater installed during a mild spring may face extreme summer temperatures months later and freezing conditions the following winter. The SMR-101 is designed as a single, all-climate platform so the customer doesn't have to select a different repeater based on seasonal conditions.
The objective is simple: install it once and trust it year-round.

Operating in the 902–928 MHz ISM band, the SMR-101 combines long-range LoRa communications with extremely low power requirements, making continuously operating solar infrastructure practical.
Serious Power for a Low-Power Network
At the heart of the SMR-101 is a 1 W / 30 dBm RAKwireless LoRa radio platform backed by a high-capacity battery and dedicated solar charging system.
Efficient MPPT charging maximizes available solar energy while maintaining reserve capacity for nighttime operation and periods of reduced sunlight.
The entire power system is engineered around the unusually low continuous energy requirements of LoRa, allowing the SMR-101 to provide meaningful RF performance without the large solar arrays and battery banks associated with conventional repeater infrastructure.
Built for Permanent Outdoor Installation
The electronics are housed in a rugged, gasketed cast-aluminum enclosure with sealed penetrations, pressure equalization, weather-resistant connections, and structural aluminum mounting hardware.
The system is designed for installation on poles, towers, buildings, remote properties, and other locations where communications equipment may remain unattended for extended periods.
Major components remain accessible and serviceable, making the SMR-101 maintainable communications infrastructure rather than a disposable sealed device.
Infrastructure, Not a Project Box.
The SMR-101 was developed around a simple idea:
A remote repeater should behave like infrastructure.
Mount it. Configure it. Put it into service.
Then leave it there to do its job.

Deploy it. Power it with the sun. Trust it to keep working.
